Coarse paraffin is mainly used for making matches, fiberboard, cape canvas and so on. Add polyolefin additive in paraffin, its melting point increases, adhesion and flexibility increase, widely used in moisture-proof, waterproof packaging paper, cardboard, some textiles surface coating and candle production.

The paper in paraffin can produce good waterproof paper, can be used in food, medicine packaging, metal rust prevention and printing industry; paraffin after adding cotton yarn, can make the textile soft, smooth and elastic; paraffin can also produce detergent, emulsifier, dispersant, plasticizer, grease, etc.

Fully refined paraffin and semi-refined paraffin are widely used in food, oral drugs and some commodities (such as wax paper, crayons, candles, carbon paper), baking containers for fruit preservation, electrical components insulation, improve rubber aging resistance and increase flexibility, etc. It can also be used for oxidation to produce synthetic fatty acids.
